Carnival Fun at the Sanderson Flag

posted 18 Oct 2012, 04:33 by Stu Bennett

On Thursday 11th October 2012 cubs from across the district came together to participate in the District Sanderson Flag. This years competition ran on a carnival theme and all of the bays were based on carnival games. We had bays such as throwing darts at balloons, splat the rat, plate spinning, hook the fish, tight rope walking and many more! All of the cubs worked well together in their teams trying to gain the highest score possible on each bay.

After a quick refreshment break each team was presented with a participant certificate, Then the top three places were revealed. There was no third place as two teams had the same score meaning that joint second place went to 9th Blyth and 2nd Cramlington. The first place certificate and coveted trophy was awarded to 10th Blyth.

A massive thank you goes to all of the teams who participated in this event. I would also like to thank all of the leaders for providing some fantastic bays and for bringing their teams. Special thanks go to Alan Forster for taking photographs at the event and finally my thanks go to Akela Maryln and the rest of the cub leaders at 3rd & 5th Cramlington for hosting the event and providing refreshments.
