District Triathlon 2013

What another fantastic day of challenge and adventure as the District Triathlon 2013 took place on Saturday 14th September again at QE II Country Park. The weather was on our side again for the third year running with Scouts taking part in three challenges; Canoeing, Cycling and Walking around the lake aiming to get the best time.

Here is the list of the teams that took part and their finishing positions:

3rd - 10th Blyth (team 4)
4th - 6th Cramlington (team 7)

6th - 4th Cramlington (team 9)
6th - 7th Cramlington (team 3)
7th - 2nd Seaton Delaval (team 1)
8th - 7th Cramlington (team 6)

EXPLORER COMPETITION

1st - Explorers Team B
2nd - Explorers Team A
 
Well done to all 12 teams who took part in the Triathlon, we hope you all enjoyed the day. This event would not be possible without the help of leaders from Blyth Valley District as well as Watbus and Northumberland County Council. I would also like to thank the following people:

Finally, thanks to all the other leaders who attended on the day, Jonny (F), Wendy, Chris, Wendy (M), Steve Storey and anyone who I may have missed, please pass on my thanks. Big thanks to Dave Mason for picking up the Party tent, canoes and the the loan of 10th Blyth Kyam tent and 2nd Seaton Delaval for supplying equipment to run the event. I would also like to thank Derek for helping in the running and setting up the event with me.
