Helping young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it's most needed
Helping young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it's most needed
Every week, Squirrels gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities. Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.
The one-hour sessions will be a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into being part of Scouts, and they’ll help everyone get ready for the adventure of school too.
Sessions will are packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life. Of course, none of it would be possible without the support of the amazing leaders who plan and deliver such an inspiring programme.
Each badge is packed with wow and wonder, perfect for anyone who’s ever asked ‘Why?’ (or ‘Why not?’). You’ll tell stories and play games. Get active and explore the outdoors. Become a brilliant builder and a super chef. There’s something for everyone – and that means that there’s something for you.
Fun & Friendship: Engage in laughter, games, and making new friends.
Skills Development: Learn to ask 'why', explore, build, and develop independence.
Badges: Earn various activity and challenge badges, with the Chief Scout Acorn Badge as a top award.
Adventure: Participate in activities and adventures, with opportunities for "Nights Away" (sleepovers) for older Squirrels.
The first step to becoming a Squirrel is to find your nearest Dray using our finder tool. Fill out the form and one of our team will get back to you as soon as possible. Squirrells are new to Scouts and at the moment not every Scout Group has a Squirrell dray, but we'll do our best to put you in touch with your nearerst one.
Squirrells is open to all, and we can usually tweak things to make sure everyone can join in the fun. If you have any questions about accessibility, chat with your local leader as soon as possible. By being upfront from the start, parents/carers can work in partnership with local leaders to make sure their young person has.
